Comprised of downtown property owners, developers, concerned
citizens and civic groups, the Downtown Partnership is a not for
profit organization whose goal is to promote and foster the
economic redevelopment of our downtown.
Proclaimed a Community Redevelopment Agency District in 1981,
the downtown is an under-utilized asset to the citizens of
Clearwater. The Partnership's aim is to name, fund and implement
projects that will assist the public and private sectors in
averting blight and creating a downtown distrct that becomes a
regional destination.
There are many new residential units planned for the area, and
their promise is real and tangible. Still, there are actions
that can be undertaken by the private sector to spark additional
redevelopment and improved quality of life.
Actions such as restoring historic facades, education the
general public on Clearwater's history, creating and
implementing a real strategy for bringing businesses to downtown
can all be accomplished now.
With this private sector initiative, working together with and
for the public sector, it is our belief that we can accomplish
that which we have been looking for - a true downtown district
that is a destination for the entire region.
